NJ Voter Empowerment Act Is Now Law

NJ Voter Empowerment Act Is Now Law

Governor Mikie Sherrill signed the John R. Lewis Voter Empowerment Act into law, making New Jersey the 10th state in the nation to pass its own state-level voting rights act and the first to enact such protections since the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v Callais! New Jersey voters are now protected by one of the strongest voting rights acts in the entire country.
